What a dork at the game check. At Quantico they will wait for you to bring your deer back in and will never say a word about it...

We will lock you in...lol...tell him good I'll sleep out in the woods

Nothing came my way this afternoon on this new place but from this new vantage point I saw deer movingback and forth along a ridge top about 60-70 yards away.

I know now where to relocate to.

When I got to the woods this afternoon I had to move my climber. I climbed up to get my hangers and my cinch strap, climbed back down and then moved to another tree.

When I got to hunting height I cinched my Viper down and reached into my right pocket to get my quiver hook. When I pulled it out of my pocket I heard something hit the ground.

I was puzzled as I never put anything in my right pocket except my keys. My keys were still there so I thought "Oh well" and hunted.

I was almost to my four wheeler after dark when it hit me: I had put my four wheeler key in my right pocket. Sure enough, it was missing.

I scrambled back and spent 10 minutes combing through leaves looking for that key.

    I finally found it.

Once again I got back late to this dump I'm staying in temporarily.

The dogs weren't happy with me but they are very forgiving.

I’m probably guilty of that with hunting :(

How would you guys hunt this property with a North/NW/NE wind? Use markings if possible please.

I haven’t stepped into either woods much at all. I haven’t stepped a foot in that south woods since spring as it is thick and mostly bedding. There is a nice island on that north end I haven’t been into since spring.

I just have no idea how to hunt it with any kind of north wind.

30 degrees tomorrow morning when I get into the stand. Even for wisconsin this seems unseasonably cold. I love it .

Nothing for me tonight. Bumped one going in and saw a small single deer(probably button buck) about 100 yards out. Finally getting pics on trail camera since this cold Front has moved through. No bucks yet.

It's only 6 seconds at a time. Suck it up.

I got to take the wife to the mile high nationals. Whenever I get her out there

Decided to switch it up and ground pound this afternoon in a leaf ghillie and Ameristep throw down blind. Had a mature doe come straight in at 520p, I could not draw back. Finally she must've caught movement or something and stopped behind a clump of brush at maybe 15yds. Cut downwind and that was all she wrote. Cool encounter though. First time I've bow hunted from a ground blind in a very long time.
Tomorrow I may take it real easy and just hunt from behind camp. While I was packing up I squatted down and BOTH my hammies went into full lockdown. I squealed like a little girl. Took me 5 minutes just to stand up straight.

Been pounding waters and Pedialyte this evening.

Had it been earlier in the year, sweet corn would have been great! Dinner rolls, garden salad, wine and lobster....my tummy is smiling!

Now, to get out there this weekend and find me a buck!
