Didn't see anything. Pretty windy. Checked cam. No bucks in day light for the last while. Will probably stay that way for another couple weeks.

First major cold front and not a single deer tonight. First sit where I haven’t seen deer.

The amount of water on the property from the rain is crazy. Our little creek is overflowing. Water over the road in is knee high in most spots. I guess I can try to plan on hunting higher ground (most of our land is swampy). Not much high ground to work with but going to have to try something.

So I just got confirmation and this deer was killed last night From the guy who owns property on the back side of my lease. His section of woods butts up to The area I hunt. What a bow kill!

Was gonna post while actually live from the stand but had a coyote come in as soon as I hung my bow in the tree. Had a doe blowing up the hill and it wasnt at me. All I can think of was she smoked out the coyote I couldn't get a shot on, and I was pretty bummed. Really curious if anything was with her. Couldn't see her at all and she wasnt downwind of me whatsoever. Kind of a crap night, but I have a lot of time.

Congrats Chief, wondering what kind of place you're calling home? Suburbs or more the boonies, any acreage?

    Boonies. Definitely boonies.

It's a small house on 8 wooded acres surrounded by forest land.

This afternoon's sit was uneventful until the last 45 minutes.

At about 6:15 I saw some does about 150 yards out. Something spooked them and they ran down the trail and right under my tree.

I stopped one and she was about 10 yards away facing almost directly away from me. I was at full draw for almost a minute and she finally walked straight away. I had to pass.

Then right at last light a decent buck (a shooter for me) came up the other trail, walked straight to my tree and sniffed around the base of the tree. He finally walked away and I drew my bow again but once again he walked straight away so I didn't take the shot.

That's what I get for setting up over a trail intersection. At least now I know to adjust tomorrow afternoon. I'll get out there a little early and move my stand downwimd of the intersection.

Yeah, I almost brought the yak. I've got a few other spots that I hunt regular in the area. Was just planning on hitting the swamp hard this weekend....I'll save it for next weekend.

Oh yeah- live from Michigan Deer Camp 2018! Didn't get in until 10pm. Saw a crap load of does and fawns in the nearby fields. All unpacked and ready to rock at 0400. Currently relaxing with an ice cold Labatts and a tenz device on my rhomboid giving me the Green Mile treatment (speaking of Michael Clark Duncan, may he RIP)

Woke up this AM so jacked up I couldn't turn my head.

Good luck to everyone in three AM, doubt I'll have signal where I'm going...

    KILLLLLLLL
