That is no joke! The mosquito's tried to carry off both the does and the hunters who shot them this weekend while we were trying to process them. They sounded like hummingbirds buzzing around our heads.

I’m glad I am hunting from the couch lol

Well that friggin blows.... it gave us a crap ton of pears For such a small tree.. and she will replace it with another next spring

Trail cam is up so I can hopefully identify the offending buck.... obviously a night time rub... pretty sure I know who did it.. I’m chasing a high racked 8 that will only score 100 or so but I want him... I’ve seen him near the scene of the crime

Worst thing is, I never got to tell the tree how much it meant to me... and now it’s gonna die...

I’m not in the stand but just wanted to say... Ill take cold and snow 5 months out of the year here in MN instead of dealing with 80+ degrees and mosquitos the size of hummingbirds in October any day! Haven’t had to deal with skeets since middle of September.

If I had a 6 pack of Budweiser, blanket, and some Netflix I'd sleep out here 20 feet high tonight. Lmao!

New spot, this morning sucked, migraine made me go home. Dragged my butt out here for one last sit, good buck shows his face in about 30/1hr from now from pictures. Fingers crossed he steps out here this evening.
Here's the two I've decided to take this year. I'll only take one though.

    That's funny!
When you plant a young tree like that, it's best to put some protection around it, especially if you've got deer in the area. Bucks love that size tree because it gives when he pushes on it, and it mimics opposition.

Both nice bucks! I'd be happy with either of them.

Well, had another pop up shower hit.me but ideas prepared this time. Was putting umbrella up and as I'm moving around, dang deer right under the tree, rain hid the noise but it saw me. Dont know if it was doe or buck, I was ready to sell everything. Another one of those just my luck moments. But, I saw two deer tonight so thats a success in my book.

It was one of those hunts that you get this feeling, you know your going to see something. I was setup in a great spot, then nothing! It's kind of defeating, I'm sure you know what I mean.

We had to that to our apple trees that we planted last fall. It took the deer all of one night to find them. The mosquitoes got so bad the night we planted them that we had to wait to put the cages up around them.
