It’s in the mid 80s here now... I can’t bring myself to go sit in a tree this afternoon with temps like this and not a cloud in the sky...

It’s been mid 70s all day, it’s gonna stay that way until Friday with a low of 39! Bring on the cold front baby!

Can't blame you a little bit. I don't enjoy it when it's this warm either. And, I hate sunny/clear skies when I'm hunting as well. I like cloudy, and no shadows driving me crazy.

I back on stand also. So hot! I hunting the spot I had that encounter with that buck a week ago. I know there are other bucks in here. Lots of new sign, both scrapes and rubs that weren't here last week. It's going to happen tonight, I can feel it!

It’s early bear too ... [IMG]

If I see a doe it will be a game time decision.

Hot as heck but cant kill em from the couch. Hatched a plan from old Intel. 100 yds and closing and I bump three does right out of the spot. Oh well. The sign is here and they just eased off. I hope the buck eases out of this little ravine from the thicket. I've lost 5lbs of water from the walk.

You can try it for aesthetics, but that tree won't make it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I've seen that done on small trees that were planted in a line like yours, probably six of them, and every one of them was rubbed badly. Once too much bark is worn away, and the cambium is exposed like that, it usually catches up to the tree, and it dies.
