SE wind tonight. I'll be back in the corn. Since spring I have not stepped a foot in the woods the fields I'm hunting are connected to.

Here is a public land spot I'd really like to take a deer from. Doe or buck doesnt matter. where the pin is, is where I would set up on the ground. No blind. I'm not sure what is planted in that ag field and its kinda hard to see from the road when I drive past it. The only problem is access. Only way to that spot is walking through some nasty wet creek bottom land. What do you guys think.

There should be a key on your keyboard that says PrtScn or some form of print screen. That will take a screenshot of your desktop as is and you will be able to Paste it into the reply section.

I think I would maybe try getting on the edge of the field just to get more opportunity. The deer could come out of the woodline into the field and then into range. If you're tucked in there you are limiting yourself to whatever comes out of that area. What direction will the wind be blowing?

I just wanna type a little reminder about bow safety, or easy to get home grab the bow and stay slinging arrows. But how often do we check our arrows before shooting them? Or inspect the bow before taking shots. Or even running grew how to hold and fire the weapon properly. I didn’t take the safety check part seriously yesterday and truly pained for it. I got home and quickly grabbed the crossbow and took it outside I make sure it was still sighted in for what would be today’s hunt. I was pressed for time so being in a hurry I threw the bag out cocked the bow and fired.
I quickly realized something was wrong when my hand started throbbing in pain. I was not holding the crossbow properly when I fired and had my middle finger above the rail...... so firing the weapon sent my arrow off along with he tip of my finger. Luckily we got to the hospital on record time thanks to my amazing wife.im Home now stitched up with all of my finger but still have to call a specialist due to the fact that it shaved a good portion of my bone off with it. No hunting for me for a short time. But I just ask all this season to be safe. Go threw the steps and checks. Before every shoot and hunt.[IMG]or you might end up like this

Are those hills to the north of the fields or flat land?

Well I still have my man card however I had a doe come in to 23 yards at 0935 and another one at 955 .no shot at either I could have thou. Had it been a buck I would have shot, back at the trk headed home and the wife called me after I climbed down and said she left early and was going to breakfast with a friend .she further stated that I should have shot, we are almost out of meat

That creek is a decent sized creek. I dont think deer could jump it unless they really had to. So I think the corner of that field could be a good little pinch point. For wind I guess a northwest or northeast would be ok.

It's pretty flat creek bottom land.
