    Think I will kick off my season later this evening in 86 degree weather... Not ideal and I wasn't going to push it - but I need to get in a tree.

    Going to hunt a persimmon grove that's tucked into a corner of a secluded bean field - I haven't been in the area since I hung the stand but I imagine some have already started to drop.

    Got a hair alcohol test at school today. Everyone gets either drug or alc tested periodically throughout the year. Of course I don’t get the drug test. :/

    I can tell you with certainty that those magpies will sound the alarm if and when they come across your buck. I hunted Alberta and killed a buck which I watched drop. By the time (30 mins) my guide got to the scene the magpies had already located my kill and were making a heck of a racket! Don't give up young man. :tu:

    Is that for certain blood? Looks more jelly-like but focus isn't great. Is it on part of the leaf folded over the branch or on the branch itself?

    I've been on tracks where I came along a very similar substance but ended up not being blood once I got down and looked at it.

    Usually see it late Oct. early Nov. here, not sure where you are seasonally being a good deal further north.
