Little Chief, that really sucks man. I am sorry. I know that feeling and its a terrible one. All I can say is that its October 7th. Keep hunting hard, and it will pay. Who knows, that buck might be fine and show back up on camera.
Man that really sucks, you gave it a big effort though and that's what counts. Keep after it,it'll happen sooner or later. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
You put in a great effort trying. However, I think you still have a dead deer. I would look for vultures tomorrow if you have time. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I am sitting in a blind with my daughter for the Wisconsin youth hunt. Raining right now but it is supposed to stop for the last hour and a half.
Yeah don’t give up yet!!! Go back in the morning with some buddies and grid search Mike4christ 2016 Bear Escape Easton FMJ 6mm NAP Doublecross
2nd time out this year. I've left the property alone to keep the pressure off. I get to the area where I usually park the side by side and another 4 wheeler is here. Apparently my girlfriends dad let our neighbor know he could hunt the property. So discouraging. He's in the area I've been out of for the last 2 months. I can't be mad since it's not my property but it is a punch in the gut. Good luck all! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just got out for the evening. Been raining for two days. Just stopped. Little Sun now. Should be moving this evening I would think. Real windy too.
That sucks man, Been there myself with a bear this past august. My dad always said thats why its called hunting¬ shooting. (That was never much consolation to me! ) Sent from my SM-G935R4 using Tapatalk

I am sorry to hear that LittleChief, I know the pain as I just wounded a buck myself last week. I just got trail cam pics from him though and he looks great, he is recovering from what I believe to have been a brisket shot as its the only spot I see on a deer that has black hair behind the shoulder. I hope you will be able to say the same thing, and seal the deal. until then best of luck!
Agree, never rained here but deer need to move so my freezer can have meat!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Damn, that sucks. I do know the feeling. Happened to me in Illinois. Same exact scenario. Tracked that deer through the thickest of the thickest, Until there was no blood to be found. I was on my hands and knees in the thorns. I think you're right. The Brodhead left a nice wound that took a while to clot up. Blood trail you described, is exactly what I was finding. I think he'll live. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Been sitting since 6:30 this morning....have yet to see a deer (sighhhhh) Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

I'm afraid I'm back home in Tennessee now, but my brother and the farmer are going to keep an eye out. Based on what we saw on the trail I really don't believe he's dead. It might be a long time before he walks that trail again though.
