I'm really thinking that I probably didn't kill this deer.

Not yet. No P&Y scorer that I've talked to knows how. I've got several guys asking around.
I did find a B&C scorer that scored a buck like mine in 2009 but he lives in Montana. He travels for the Dixie deer classic in my area but that's in march.

The arrow does look pretty clean, but that doesn't always mean you didn't make a good shot. It's only been an hour since you first posted about it. The radar in west TN looks pretty clear, so if it does rain, it probably won't rain much. If you're having trouble seeing blood due to being color blind, do you have anyone who can come help you look?

Best thing you can do is give him time. It's hard but the best option. Even if you nicked 1 lung, he'll bleed out.

My opinion is this. No the arrow does not look promising, however it is not all telling. It's too early in the search for you to be way down on yourself. Don't discourage yourself to the point of saying screw it and only half looking. That deer could be payed up not far. I wouldn't push that deer, I would wait until you absolutely can't wait anymore for whatever reason. There are still many options from this point so don't give up hope. There are dogs, buddies, possibility of grid searching him. Etc. Ill be here for the track and waiting for good news. Good luck man.

Hey Chris, I sent a pic of your deer to a B&C scorer here in MD and he said he has scored a deer like this in the last couple years. If your interested pm me and I will give you his contact info.

Just had bird hunters push a really funky racked buck past me. One side was vertical, but the other wrapped around the front of his face. No shot though.

Yes, my brother is hunting about 15 minutes away. He's an excellent tracker.
