Don’t give up on it I have been hunting for 4 seasons now and dropped my first buck this year! I’ll tell ya though wait and let the small ones pass wait for that perfect first buck. It’s worth every inch on that rack.

Sitting about 50 yards off the soybeans towards bedding, feels like -8 right now, still just filming my friend

Sounds like you may find her dead today not far from there, 6-8" of penetration in the shoulder of a doe got at least one lung if not part of the heart. Get out there and look?

January 1st is the last day for the late season big buck tourney. I am getting out on Saturday for maybe my last hunt of the season.

    How are we looking?....

Well, considering where I'm hunting there is absolutely no chance of me seeing a buck as big as He one Lady Forge killed, but I'll be out.

if you hit that deer square in the shoulder the broadhead would've been lodged in the bone and most likely broke off. since the arrow with the head came out sounds like it wasn't in the shoulder as much as you think. might be worth one more look.

Man, I have no plans and I really wanted to go for a New Years deer, but -4 degrees doesn't sound like fun. Highs will be in the single digits.
Our season goes to the 15th, so I'm still hoping to get out again.
Good luck this weekend to those still after them!

Moved some cams to see if I can't zero in on daytime movement for last New Year's Eve sit.

All set up. It's a mild 21 degrees and not a hint of a breeze. Feels incredible.

Oh c'mon, dude, you can try out that new late season baselayer you snagged. I got mine in the mail yesterday, it's great addition to my baselayers and a steal at $20

What did you get and where for $20? I'm in the market for an improvement in this department.

There was a discussion about Puffy/Late Season baselayers and one of the $129 Cabelas tops was on sale for $19.98, and I posted it to the thread and FEB was one of the people who bought one. It has since sold out:

It's a perfect morning but the only thing moving so far is squirrels.
