Just got a text from my buddy who killed two deer with one arrow tonight! Last 5 minutes of sun he shot a doe and button buck with one arrow. So happy for him. He has hunted hard for three months without any luck. This guy never gives up. Last year he tore his knee and missed most of the rut. He limped out in mid December and put down a great buck.

Archery goes to the end February in Arkansas. A three day nonresident license is $125. Includes two doe and one buck tag. Lots of public land here.

How much does a 2.5 y/o buck weigh in Arkansas?

Never hunted in FL, not sure how big they get. Buck I killed last year was 4.5 and I got 60 lbs of meat off him. Bigger of the two does I killed gave me 40 lbs.

Out for another evening sit. Temps is 15, 6 with the wind chill. Still snow on the ground nothing new to you northerners, but here in Missouri it usually doesn’t last this long.

Not sure how you feel about baiting, but I have it on good authority that if you leave him cookies and beer, he'll be to your house first next year.

Look up I am Santa Claus on YouTube.

Had thirteen doe in my food plot. Made a bad shot on one, hit her square in the front shoulder. Only got 6-8” of penetration. Arrow came out after about 150 yards. Very little blood and it stopped about 20 yards after the arrow came out. Very bummed to say the least. I have only been bow hunting for 2.5 seasons now. She would have been my third doe. 1 last year and 1 this year no bucks so far.

Don’t get too discouraged. We’ve all been there and made bad shots. It’s part of bowhunting! Not sure how far you pushed her but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to go back out tomorrow in the daylight to where you found last blood and look some more. Do a grid search of the area if you have to. Good luck!

If you got 6-8” of penetration and the arrow with broad head worked it’s way out after 150 yds than that broadhead was probably doing some serious internal damage in that 150 yds. You might have lost the blood trail but it’s possible that she could have been bleeding out internally.
