    2nd Archery Season doesn't open until the day after Christmas. So I'm hunting geese and ducks and fishing until then

    Well I got to rush out for the first time in forever. Get out here and realize I forgot harness. So hunting from elevated box with bad wind and the cam I checked by me has almost non existent daylight activity. Oh well the snow is pretty

    Light dry snow here most of the afternoon. Still at 24° and have the fireplace going. Will see what Monday evening brings. I don't do early mornings well as I don't trust myself on those frosty steps, etc. Have some newer cold weather gear I need to test out. Have about 17 days left of the bow season so hope something shows up when I am there.

    Fresh tenderloins. Let them sit in the fridge all day in Moore’s marinade, seasoned with garlic salt & pepper, wrapped in thick cut maple bacon and cooked on the grill to medium-rare... quite possibly the best deer meat I’ve ever eaten... :biggrin:

    Got about an inch of snow on the ground. At least I can move my lock on with some stealth today. I was within 50 yards of a really good buck yesterday. I've seen him at distance but up close he's a stud. No camera there. Looks to be a big 10 with lots of mass and very wide. I've closed the distance but not enough. Hope to get in range tonight.
