Well I got in right at legal shooting light. Wind is almost wrong. Didn't see any coming in, and haven't seen one yet. Also this 12 gauge is cramping my style. Hope they start moving soon.
Had the flu this week. The snow has been falling and the deer movement is on the rise. Looking forward to getting out this weekend and harvesting a doe with the bow. A buddy and I are going to film each other shooting does - never tried before. Then I'll head home and try to get a buck in the last couple weeks of the season.
I have so many baiters and feeders around me, the deer don't bother with acorns. What they don't eat, the turkeys will.
Yeah same here no baiting allowed. Well this hunt I feel is going to be a bust. Got back to my stand and 3 trucks right on fenceline. So I figure I ain't going to see anything I just well go see if they are gutting deer. Get 20 yards from them they all jump in the trucks and take off. Seems kinda fishy.
Setup in a different spot today. Just started snowing as well. Fingers crossed. Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Well I missed a chip shot on a doe. 4 came in and I was turned the wrong way of course and reached back to feel for my bow. I must have nudged the arrow off of the rest to the inside because when I settled the pin and touched the release there was a bad noise and the arrow flew high and right by about 20 feet. I'm freaking bummed.
I seen a ton of deer on the way home from work tonight. Never see many, one cut field might have a few does in it. Seen 3 on top of a hill just off the roadway, then what looked to be about 7-8 in a low spot on the edge of a creek as I went across the bridge. They were all antlerless but chasing each other around. Thought this thread would be active this evening. I haven't hunted since my 2nd buck mid Nov. The once good news given on my uncle turned out to be not so good once he got into surgery. 4 weeks before they had said the cancer did not spread and wasn't near as bad as they had thought, would likely be able to cut it all out and the surgery would be relatively simple. Once under the knife, they determined that it had spread way more than they thought and surgery was no longer an option. He goes in on the 20th to talk about chemo, if the odds are not high he will likely opt to forego treatment. Hunting has been the least of my worries, only hoping this wasn't a result of the horrid stories about treatment by the VA hospitals.
Hang in there cls! We're sending well wishes to you and your family! Sent from my SM-N900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
