First time I've ever hunted this spot. Public land hoping to catch some deer bedded over here then dropping down and crossing over to the private land golf range. Figured they may be eating on that field after dark...maybe 400 to 500 yds away. Sitting on a creek cross headed that way. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
One more different angle shows he is a 9. How old y'all think he is? 3? Sent from my SM-G935V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Sitting in a spot where I usually don't see any deer but the cameras showed a nice typical 10 with a kicker was in here Monday night. About 2 weeks ago there was a nice 9 point on the same camera. It's tough. I've been watching countless does and fawns with a couple of small bucks every night in a different spot about 800 yards away. I haven't tagged a deer yet and the season ends on Sunday. A big ol' slickhead might be in trouble Sunday evening if one of these nice bucks doesn't step out soon.
He is kinda hard to get along with on things like this. Sent from my SM-N900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Congrats to your Dad! That smile says it all! I’m sure you were just as happy for him as he was to kill a buck. Nothing beats getting to share in the hunting successes with family.
Well that would be typical plan but I don’t have access to that property. Was gonna wait till next year to ask permission but gonna go over tomorrow and knock on the door and ask for permission Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Busted... Still cant climb yet. Have a nice ground sit on ridge 20 feet down to creek bottom in front of me. Perfect really for a ground sit. Look back left (for some reason, never had a single deer come from behind me), nice 8 standing there staring me down at 15 yards. The tree is huge and covering me pretty good. Just had my eyeballs sticking around it looking at him. He knew something was up. He was head bobbing staring me down. Gave me the old put his head down to the ground and snap it back up. Went on for what seemed like an hour. Finally started walking fast from where he came from. I mouth grunted him 5 times and he finally stopped quartering away. I was about a mili second into drawing and he bolted.
Since I've seen a few gun kill photos posted, I don't feel so bad about posting my .270 buck on Halloween. It's a 65 yard shot but looks further since it's filmed with a GoPro. It was windy out that day and didn't think I'd see much so I didn't bring the DSLR to film.
Oh I see how it is people I finally shoot my first buck and bow your giving out awards for late season bucks ! It’s never good enough. Next year that trophy will be on MY WALL! Lol Mike4christ 2016 Bear Escape Easton FMJ 6mm NAP Doublecross
