Last day of VT gun season buck only. I'm out with my bow for a couple hours. New place. Posted private land I got permission for. Been seeing many deer coming out at last light but they were too far away to tell what they were. Put up a stand. Next weekend starts late archery and muzzleloader.

Not going out today, probably in the morning. Last evening, deer 0, Opossum 2. Had a doe followed by a nice 8 pt come out into CRP about 150 yds out. Tried to grunt the buck closer but would not come. Bad calling. Had another pair the opposite direction about 200 yds out, on the move heading for another draw and corn field. After super Mrs. spotted a Opossum under her bird feeders. Got 'em. Later saw another about the same place. Another one down. That makes about 6 so far this fall/early winter. Good Eagle food.

Things just picked up. We have about 20 minutes of light. 4 small bucks and a doe with 2 fawns are all here. All still out of range, but our boy is enjoying the show!

I saw 15 deer tonight. I wait for this time of year each season. Early season is dead but cold weather and snow means we start seeing deer. I could have jumped on a spike horn he was so close. I also saw a 4 point. The spike was chasing every deer that came into the field. It was funny to watch. That’s 2 evenings in a row that I’ve seen young bucks chasing. 1 week left so I’m hoping one of the bigger bucks step out. I’m not too picky, but I’m looking for something a little bigger than a 1.5 year old.

Mike the guy who posted in the thread all season, then shot a deer, told everyone he shot it, and then never posted a followup to anything. So I was relating your type of 12 pointer post to something that Mike would do.

Ahh I guess I missed that one. I knew I didn't recall a user named Mike. What a weird thing to do.

Nothing else for me. Other then the 6p came back out. Pulled 3 cards on my way out, excited to see what’s still about.

Well I just caught up on about 10 pages!!! Congrats on the kills guys! Tomorrow rifle opens in PA, I moved one of my Good archery stands about 100 yards so I can see further and will be out in the morning with the 30-30 should be a good morning, Long hike in and want to get there early to get parking and to get into my stand before other hunters start bumping deer around!
