And now for the obligatory, " I thought this was a bowhunting site" stupid a** comment. Is that a 336 C? My dad has one from about 1960 in 30-30 that I just love. I would love to get one in 45 70, but the prices keep me holding back. Congrats on the kill. At one I will be heading out with one of my 4H archery kids to see if he can get his first with a bow. Our season is all over on Sunday.
Between my neighbor and I we have seen 6 bucks on the run...from our houses! I'm on kid duty so the wife can shop. He is heading out this afternoon and I will be at it in the morning. We both hunt pretty hard and this is the most chasing either of us has seen all year. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Congrats LittleChief! Lots of fresh deer meat for you! I just got setup for the evening. Sitting a spot just on the down wind side of some doe bedding. Haven't set here since September, lots of oaks. But looks like the acorns have been cleaned up a long time ago.
Back in, brother is about 40 yards away in his climber I’m trying to get him on the 8 I’ve been seeing, got a little windy but we’ll see how it goes Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
The deer I hunt are going to have a hard winter. Hardly any food in the woods and no real access to ag fields or anything. Im going to focus in on one area this December to hunt a particular buck. Never really done that before so I am going to have fun with it. Ive had two trail cams out in his core area for the past 3 to 4 weeks. I saw him last year in mid December and he got as close to 50 yards as he left his bed and was trailing a group of does.
Just had big 8 run by me 75mph right under my stand. I think there are some pushed going on couple properties over.
Well, you're right. It's a bow hunting site but I didn't want to be left out of the live from the stand thread. The gun is an 1895SBL. It's a great looking deer slayer.
You didn't scare anything, there's nothing left, you killed them all! Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Okay, I got them all skinned, quartered and on ice. Thankfully I was able to use my brother's workshop. I drove back to my camper, unloaded the coolers, wolfed down a couple of hot dogs, took a shower and I'm back on stand. I'm glad I had a 5 hour energy in the camper.
Back in the stand. Any antlerless that walks by is fair game and will see a bullet. Time to do some herd management. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Actually I don't know why I'm back out this afternoon. I don't want to mess with another deer today. My brother is out hunting this afternoon so I'm kind of going along to be a good sport. I sure am tired.
This warm weather is so odd. I just had a mosquito on me. Is it September again? Sent from my SM-G935V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
