All set. Here I am thinking I'm elite hunter with a solid game plan. Get 200 yds and closing on my stand. Entrance has been great. I'm awesome....then sounds of a herd of does blowing at me...full on donkey animal sounds for minutes. Yeah...great Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Hahaha. A herd of does will make you feel like a little punk. I hate that so much. I think I even get embarrassed when it happens Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Good luck VS! On my way to the stand. 28 degrees here this morning. Running a little late but My hopes are high! Last chance to hunt until probably Sunday evening. Something will die today!!
Good Luck everyone! I'm waiting until out gets light. I have to cross 70 acres of beans, that aren't cut. I'll scare everything in the world off! Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
As of a couple weeks ago the biologist on base eliminated the killing of does on 80% of the base. They want those bred does to produce fawns. As compared to just 10 yrs ago our overall deer kill numbers are half of what they used to be. They also made another great move. They allow anyone to kill any type of buck they want on their first buck tag. If they take a second buck , there must be 3 points or more on one side. They have never instituted those types of controls on base. I for one think it is fantastic. People can come out and have a great time, but after their first buck some solid management practices come into place. This place is 50, 000 acres. Helping those bucks get from age 2 to 3 will make this place much more interesting in the years to come. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Best of luck to all of you lucky folks out with the sticks and strings. I'm following along flying this desk and processing policy exception requests. I know it sounds too fun.
I'm in the stand. I'll stay for a couple hours, then go eat and come back. Good Luck everyone! Sent from my SM-N900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
