I have the boys.. momma has the next 4 days off so I will be out tomorrow with the bow and then fri, sat, sun with the cannon. I would be more than happy to run into moose with either.

This has been the worst year ever on a military base in terms of them closing all the areas that I scouted. since late October I can count on one hand how many days they've been open. Makes it extremely difficult to get in there and hunt the spots that I've scouted extremely hard the last several years. One in particular I seen a giant Buck two out of the last four times I've been in there and almost killed him last week. I have not been able to hunt him since November 10th.

All the areas are closed again tomorrow. I may just kick back and drink a few beers tonight and sleep in

That has to sting Brett. When they close it, are they doing drills in there that screws the hunting all up also ? Or just a closing for security reasons ?

Well I spends a couple hours looking for more sign. I have done all that I can do and I truly believe he is alive. Didn't find any extra blood where we lost it last night. I'm going to get ready and go sit in a tree. Next one won't be so lucky.

Good luck buddy. Crap happens. Bowhunting can be a kick in the balls sometimes. Keep after it.

Light wind. Clear and 48 degrees. I'm in a great Doe spot. Hope they bring the Big Boys. First decent 8 is taking a dirt nap. Have never hunted this stand in the afternoon, usually my best morning spot. But it's the rut and you just have to be in a tree!
