It's those squirrels when you don't check that always have the 30" legs and brow tines though.

Very hilly and lots of ravines. I know he went to the hill and headed northwest but I can't find where he went up. I have blood 20 yards from the base of the hill and it stops. I walked the trails going up and nothing. Went to the top of the hill and grid searched a 400 by 100 yard area and nothing. I went to the north side of the hill where I can see along ways away and nothing. If he got past there he's over half mile from the shot. I'm stumped, I'm tired, and I can't focus right now. I'm backing out till I get reinforcements. The blood is way darker then I like.

That was my first thought as well. When he ran off he did blow once which I thought was strange. He ducked on the shot and the only thing that I can think of is that he dropped his right side causing the angle to not be as steep going through him I know I saw arrow sticking out both sides but I don't remember how low it was coming down.

Weird night. After I moved I had 4 does moved in, behind them was a true boomer, I assume the 12 0t put here. Unfortunately I came in wrong today cause I'd never hinted this side and he winded my trail, boom gone. So angry. Had 15 deer feeding anywhere from 30-150 yds, couple of small bucks chasing. At closing light I almost pulled the trigger on a buck, but stopped at the last second, just couldn't tell how big he was. Ugh, maybe I shoulda taken a doe. Couple more days to hunt yet.
