Well it was slow this morning so I walked around quietly went to a known buck bed saw antlers think I find a deer sleeping and creep quietly a little further and find this[IMG][IMG]
Neededless to say very disappointed and checked pics he was number 3 on my list if I saw him. Not sure if shot by some one and not found or hit by car but cyotes made work of him. Called game warden said keep the head he will come tag it for me. So I get to keep it at least. Wish I got it with my bow instead of finding him dead

Odd indeed, no blood around the mouth and topside ribs looke whole.

Sucks, but at least you know not to hold out for him or wonder where he went.

Where are you located? Just curious because that buck looks very familiar.

Today has been the craziest day of my hunting life. As I was setting up my stand I heard tons of grunting to my south. Quickly set it up climbed down gathered my things and got in stand. As I stepped on the platform a good buck was coming in. Be went west and I grunted once. He turned North and walked to the base of my tree at 4 yards. Turned to circle me and shot him broadside at 10 yards. I hit him high but it was a steep angle. Idk what just happened and I'm sick about my shot.

    Well damn, that escalated quickly.

Think it was lethal and lengthy track or non lethal?

Idk. It was a steep angle. He was at 10 yards and I'm about 24 feet up. I was about 4 inches below the back. He ran very hard and crashed into everything

Ugh, I need to learn to read. Broadside 8 yds up 10 yds out. 4" below top of back.

Hopefully you ripped through the offside lung, as hard as it sounds like he ran there is a good chance.

If somehow it was below the spine rather than above it dead deer

Was that a pass-through? Do you think you could’ve clip the heart? You probably definitely got both lungs

I was prob 20 feet high yesterday on that buck..he was 18 yds away.

Enter then exit. Destroyed his offside lung. Dead. Sounds like a similar type shot.

No blood at impact but found some 50 yards down trail. Wanted to find some before I forgot where he went. Back in the stand to think.

How long ago did you shoot him?

    Did you find the arrow?
