I️ only saw a total of 6 deer today. The buck I️ missed and doe he was tailing, then I️ bumped an unidentified on my way in this evening. 30 min before last light I️ had a doe cruise by in some thick stuff with a goofy racked 2.5 yr old on her tail. Then about 10 min later another little 4 pt came on her exact trail.

I have two spots that total about 1,500 acres that I scouted hard and have become familiar with the past 3 years. I narrowed down some really good spots and purposely waited until Nov to hunt them....they have been closed since late October. All that scouting gone to waste in those areas. One is a prime time pre-rut area while the other seems to be better right now. It isn't open on Monday. Neither is another good spot. Total of three all closed. I hope it opens at least once before the week ends. Very frustrating. But Ive adapted and had my opportunities. Just haven'y finished the job.

That encounter screwed up my plans today. Supposed to rain in the AM. I'm sleeping in, then heading south for some big woods action.

I'll meet you by the flooded scrape, bring me a sandwich and the decoy!

I️ want to, but with the hours I’ve been putting in at work, and hunting the last 2 weekends, gotta spend the day with the wife tomorrow.

Work had me sitting out for a couple days and all hell breaks loose. Congrats to guys that killed the last couple days-particularly Joe who has kept me and about everyone participating motivated. Don't know you brother but have rarely seen your level of dedication. And what a heartbreaker Adam. Hope that big 8 comes in to ease the pain. Don't have any hunting friends here as I live in a new area and have worked from home since arriving. This thread and you guys have kept me motivated. Couple days til the orange army invades here so no more waiting on a legal buck-I can use my restricted tag on a doe and I'll be out there trying in the morning. Good luck to those venturing out in the morning.
