Definitely a dead deer. The concern to me is that may only be one lung and take a while. Short, steep shot with high entrance. I wonder if he went over the top of the near lung. Hopefully not. I went through pain of a single lung hit on my buck. Deer was still alive after 35 hours. I couldn’t recover until after 50 hours. By then vultures had got it. Hopefully, that is not the case here. Mine was quartering away at 23 yards. Hit a little back and missed the near Lung but missed for the far one. This video looks way better than my shot did. The arrow changed direction on impact significantly, before the deer even reacts... ive slowed it down as much as i can and went frame by frame and that arrow goes from going left to right, to right to left upon impact...
That video makes me want to fly out there and help you find your buck... Because he is dead Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Yeah, something weird definitely happened upon impact. I almost thought it looked like the arrow hit a limb right before the deer, but it's hard to tell with that video.
If you pause it and frame by frame, it almost looks like the arrow flew erratic. This to me looks like the impact site, this is just before the mule kick. Not saying it isn't lung, was definitely bubbles in the blood in that last image. Are you having the dog there regardless?
Im fairly positive its on impact with the deer...almost like it hits a rib and it deflects off it... just by that angle it looks like it started as a good broadside, maybe a slight quartering to shot, and deflected front like it was a quartering away shot..
The tracker already has a track in the morning but will let me know when he is done, hoping I️ already have him gutted by then!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I see other have mentioned the arrow flight as well. Looks like the broadhead hits and then a nock slap. Are you using rage 2 blades by chance. Pretty sure that is the entrance wound and it looks elongated
I believe there is a dead deer. It looks high and forward a little to me. I agree with Tony on the blood out of the nose and mouth. Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I'm scared of hunting in 15 degree temps tomorrow. There, I said it. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Like others said with the high entry and no exit tracking might be a challenge. Good chance blood is from nose and mouth. With that mule kick you definitely hit him good. Good luck with the recovery Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah, as the deer exits you can see some limbs as he darkens the background behind them, just not sure their proximity of the sight line or if it was impact that caused thw arrow to deflect.
