Pretty uneventful today. Hunting for a few hours in the morning, then packing up and heading south to another property.
    Rock on!

    Sooooo, I'll be that guy.

Monday when I get to work I'm putting in my next rutcation. Taking Halloween day through the 11th off. Going to talk to the plant manager and see if 2 weeks is possible. If so I'll take Halloween to the 18th off.

Oct 24th is the full moon, Novembers is the 22nd. Going by Alsheimer's rutting moon theory first week of November should be where we are right now.

Either way I will be taking the 2-11th rather than 9th through 18th.

Now back to this season......

I only hunt the opener if its going to be cool, rarely happens, although I did sit the morning this year.

I just do it as early as possible because several years back I was in stand when a new supervisor text me the second part of my vacation was denied. Now I let them know wht days I will not be there and you have 6 -12 months to cover it.

One of our local trackers said on fb they tracked and found one... 213 5/8”. Im guessing Illinois but I think he travels to surrounding states some. Waiting to see pictures.

I agree, dead deer, might be a track and the dog will be useful. Could still be alive in the morning as well.

Not much experience with single lung hits.

Do you have permission to cross borders if needed?

I really think you hit offside shoulder and got more penetration than you think. I slowed it way down and enhanced as much as I can and that arrow really changes direction after impact... looks like right behind near shoulder, and impact and hit off side... again just my opinion from what I can see on the video...

If you got enough penetration where the arrow is still inside him, he's done. Here's the last frame of the arrow hitting him for anyone who couldn't freeze it there.

    Nice buck!

There is no way that buck is still alive... you killed him and good... the blood you are finding came from his mouth or nose
