That much hair, I think your shot was low but better than you initially thought. Give it a couple of hours and see if you can find blood.
Oh man, i did some blind grunting and a 6 pt somehow snuck in behind me and walked directly under me. Could have hopped on his back.
Walked off the shot distance...28yds. I don't feel as bad. High end for me. Good luck fellas! I'm out . Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Damn... well I️ just decided to get down to get my polesaw at base of tree. Of course when I️ climb back onto my first ladder stick I️ hear them behind me. A nice doe blew through with a basket rack 8 hot on her trail. Probably wouldn’t have gotten a shot anyway but it never fails! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

So I've been replaying the shot over and over in my head. First thing...I was sitting down and when I drew back my hand muff was in the way so I had to try and shift it to the side a little, also my release twisted some. I knew in my mind that I didn't feel comfortable and I should've let down, took my time to stand up and get in a better position to take that shot. Second, I failed to account for the downward angle that the arrow was going to take. I was about 16ft off the ground and the buck was in the dry creek bottom which is another 5ft lower than the base of my stand. He was quartering away from me and My line from left to right was good. 90% sure that I hit him low and went through the bottom of the belly fat. After the shot he ran 40yds, stopped for about 10 seconds, then jumped a fence and ran off. He didn't mule kick when I shot and his tail was down the entire time afterwards. I followed his footprints from where the shot was taken to the fence that he jumped. Not one drop of blood anywhere...I'm confident that the buck will be fine...but that doesn't make me feel much better. So mad at myself right now...
been there, its low and he will live. i've had the same thing happen couple of years ago. you gave him a hair cut. but still check
