When it’s 2:30 pm and you decide to hang a new set because how the deer have been moving and you’re putting up your climbing sticks and this happens You know you picked the right tree. I think my ruckus drew him out.
Just had a cock pheasant land about 10 feet from me. Maybe that's an omen. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
He tried to introduce her to hunting subtly with taxidermy. Guessing he shouldn't have tried stuffing the beaver first
Back out for 5he last hour or so, nothing moving yet. Wife is set up 200 yds north of me. Not an ideal wind but not terrible. 45 degrees out, so at least I'm not freezing. Hope she gets a deer. First time back out since we destroyed Ohio State Saturday, what a game to be at. Been pheasant hunting the last few days with some out of state friends, not many birds and a lot of walking. Apparently a big buck on a doe in a field beyond me buddy driving by just called me... maybe I shouldn’t have hung this stand and shoulda hunted that field. Oh well its been going down today. 16 deer total.
Ok guys I’m calling it. Walked a total of 13.7 miles and out of land to check. I have left all my cameras there hoping to see him. If he died I’m 100% sure it wasn’t on this property. I will be back hunting 2moz.
Sorry to hear this. It's not a good feeling but sounds like a hell of an effort. Sent from my SM-G935V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Just passed up a small 6 point at 5 yards. I have never passed up a deer I had a tag for and I'm going slightly crazy now that I let him walk away. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
It's never a good feeling and lingers. Just today on my buck, he was broadside walking. I mehed him and he stopped on dime. I was tucked right behind his shoulder and last second backed off. Hit him a bit back but I had a lot of room for error by backing away from the shoulder. Same exact place I hit my buck in 2013 and they both dropped within 15yds, double lung about 3/4 up and 8" behind shoulder. Had a lower exit in 2013, todays didn't drip a drop until he tipped and it spilled out
Sorry to hear that, English. Hopefully someone on the neighbors will find him, or better yet, you'll get another crack at him.
Talk about a rough day! It's been dead here. A few guys saw movement early but it had gone silent. Hope this means that things will happen this afternoon. Good day to catch up on sleep. Sent from my XT1710-02 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
