I wish I had the signal to post multiple pics like this while out. Half the time I'm posting I have to hold the phone by the top with the bottom against my chin to get a signal to refresh or submit a post. Pictures tke like 5 minutes holding steady to upload.
3 of the 5 I have seen in the last week have been like this. The one I shot Sunday wasn't this bad and neither was the one I saw yesterday morning. Wondering if it's why I'm seeing so many. Got to keep moving looking for food to keep them warm? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Not good. There is about 9inch of blood on the arrow and the head is snapped off at the insert. Cannot find the 2nd pool of blood. The arrow was within 10ft where he was stood. Going to come out the wood and leave it
That's a lot of blood. I do see bubbles, but I'm not comfortable with the amount of them. I'd like to see more bubbles. Is he making a good blood trail, or is it only when he stops? Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Ugh, it's now 10 after 7. That leaves me 7hours 50 minutes of sleep if I fall asleep right now. I can get by with 6 hours sleep, but start nodding off at around 12:30 on stand. Worse case I can follow this track for another hour. Math solves everything
Never hurts to back out, hopefully daylight dawns a new trail and a white belly at the end. Good luck in the morning.
Since the shaft snapped at the insert, my guess is the head is lodged in bone. Really hate to go there but going back and reading the original post, the arrow and the blood leads me to that. Maybe with any luck the broadhed went through
So a big buck dies at 12:37. I left myself an extra 50 minutes in that equation to keep from nodding off. Plus I have some vivarin in my truck I keep forgetting to grab. Revive with vivarin
See ya'll in the morning Wednesday Sunny, with a high near 49. North northeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.
I hope it turns out good, but it gives me flash backs of the wide buck I hit in the shoulder 3 yrs ago.. he walked off, stood there for 10 mins or more then walked off again. we had blood to follow and followed it to a live deer the next day. It made me sick, he was a big deer, but it happens.
I really hope I'm wrong. It's never happened to me on a big buck, but I've had it happen a couple times and know the feeling. If I'm on a track I want all feedback, good and bad, rather than encouragement only.
