cmtrav good move getting to the thick stuff. you should have movement most all day there. all my spots are tucked up tight to clearcuts. bucks just seem to keep checking them all day for any does.
I’ll be on the road in t minus 10 hours, it’s going to be a short night tonight lol Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Deer will come in a browse on the tender branches. They figure out quickly what went on. In the long run, the thinner canopy will allow for more sunlight to make it to the ground = more cover and more food for deer.
Been a slow afternoon as usual. Did have a group of hens out feeding for awhile. One of them was bearded so I hope to see her again this spring. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app

Farmer just drove around the field and sprayed some nasty chemical. No idea what they would spray on cut corn. I could smoke a cigar and grow a tail on the ground I don't think the deer would smell me. This stuff is nasty. So much for scent control tonight.
Thats a picture directly behind me.. I'm 15' up and holding my phone level.. like that everywhere here. Sent from my SM-G935U using Tapatalk
Even if you don't see anything, still a nice pretty place to be in a tree !!! Sent from my Z963VL using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I still like that field. The one flat that I hunt has a small rising hill in front of me, a flat trail then another gradual hillside to thr front right of me. Behind me across a small shallow creek is a ridge probably 100 ft tall and pretty long. OnX hunt has a better topo than what zi find elsewhere, I'll have to get a screen capture
I like my climber for areas like that, higher is sometime better. Sent from my Z963VL using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Just shot a public land buck. The shot was a bit back but should still be good. He ran about 40 yards and stood there for about 2 minutes wiggling his tail. Last I saw he staggered a bit but I didn't see him go down. Gonna give him a little time.
Good luck on the track man. Pics when you can. Blessings..........Pastorjim Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
