I just saw a buck cruising. Nose what not to the ground and he didn't seem to be in a big hurry? Couldn't tell how big just saw headgear. He was about 400 yards away from the stand I am in right now. He passed another stand about 10 to 15 yards away. What do you do but shake your head and laugh!!!

Does have changed patterns here too. Think they are in the thick nasty stuff hiding from bucks.

Yep, if you were getting harassed all the time you would head to the thick stuff.

I had the green light to hunt all day but I left about 1230 as it really started raining. Don't want to shoot something only to lose the blood trail and then track in terrible conditions. Back at it tomorrow. If I would have connected this morning you and I would have killed our bucks within probably a minute or two of each other. So close.

After 6hr car ride I am in a tree in Illinois. Sitting on top of a thick hardwood ridge not many acorns but got a couple of fresh rubs.

Do you ever wonder what deer do when they aren’t in front of you? I often do - especially when they’re not in front of me.

I wonder if they’re thinking about me as much as I’m thinking about them. I wonder if they know how much time and money I have invested in the idea that they will atleast show themselves.

I do a lot of wondering...
