One of the toughest things with the place I hunt at is that areas close down for days and weeks on end. I have four areas (couple thousand acres) that I've focused on this year and planned to hunt this week. All four of them have been closed today and will be closed tomorrow. Just have to adapt. A deer could climb up my stand and slap me in the face and I think I'd still have a hard time beliving I'm actually seeing a deer.
Ugh, I still have 3 hours not 2. Been in the habit of adding an hour to the time for comparison of hunts before time change. I'm at wits end. Want to get up and start walking the woods randomly to see where the heck they are. At least they will be up and moving
Jumped down this morning because it was slow and I had to work. Planned on coming back on Wednesday. Found a rub and still warm droppings 15 yds from a new xscrape. Back up for the evening. Damn you November!
I'm here guys! Just snuck out of work and jumped in a stand. So warm right now! Less then 2 hours til dark.
Headed out to the stand. Almost perfect conditions...45-50 deg., 10mph NNE winds, cold and it's been cloudy all day... Feels like it could be a great sit. Good luck to anyone else out this evening!
Pretty much given in until probably Thursday and especially Friday when strong High pressure moves in.
Terry, you have had a ton of good encounters this season! I can see it now... TERRY's PUBLIC LAND GUIDE SERVICE
Haha. Anytime okie just let me know. For some reason I just feel like I'm on my game lately. Years of work has got me to this point. Sad part is I'm struggling to get a nanny doe. At least I'm starting my game plan for next season.
