I can't get over this encounter yesterday. I had my rifle with me... Had a chance to shoot him in the neck and I froze up and didn't shoot. I've never felt this way after an encounter with a deer. Going to take me a while to get over this.
I'm where I need to be. Spooked an unknown size buck 25yds from stand. One was killed here yesterday, but perfect wind and the place to be when cruising.
Jim-- I know the feeling.... got skunked ALL last week. I was in some prime locations and punched a BIG zero!
Congrats to him!! I'm sure we've discussed this before, but what town is he close to. I have quite a bit of family in the NE part of MO.
I'm decided to work with temps in the 70s and big cold snap tomorrow. Tomorrow will be the day to be in the stand! Sound like VS is on stand this morning, hopefully he is to busy dragging!
After yesterday I learned that weather doesn't play as big of a factor when I hunt when it's early November. Winds were howling at 20+ mph yesterday and we had bucks chasing everywhere at 2pm.
