Possum came through and went to bed. Squirrels up and ticking me off. No deer. Hoping the full moon will be over soon. Nice cold temps. Right time of year. Bummed about no movement.
Just shot a 2.5 yo buck. Felt good looked good. Getting down in an hour. Not big, but I too wanted to fill WI tag-been to many years going home empty handed. The center is where I shot him. There was a doe and smaller buck to my left. He came in and put his nose to some doe in heat I have out. 18 yards broadside.

Well I just missed a young 10pt. He came out across the field and made his way to within 50yrds and I noticed he had a broken front leg so I decided this was the one. He took a few more steps in and turned to walk into the timber so I guessed where he was from when I ranged at 50 and let the arrow fly. He ducked a bit and the arrow went right over his back. Didn't seem to spook and just walked away. Hopefully he will come back today. At this point it's not about the broken leg. It's about the miss! Partially moved in to the new house here in VA I packed everything to hunt but forgot boots. Prolly gonna get out this evening or the next in the back yard pretty excited. I walked around a bit found a ladder stand in the back corner that I have to take down unknown if it’s being actively used or not. Put a cam out yesterday around lunch. Bought a little corn to put out in front of the cam it was on sale for a great price once I got home and started reading the VA regulations I see why it was on sale lol and now it’s just gonna rot. I've been back on stand since an hour before light. I probably should have stayed in bed this morning. I've been coming down with some kind of respiratory crud since Saturday. I was actually sick as a dog when I shot that doe last night.
Seriously, it's as if all the deer in Indiana have went on vacation. I haven't seen a single deer from the stand in the last 4 or 5 sits. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
It's been the same here is Ohio Co. Other than to buck I missed earlier and a spike it's been quiet the last few days. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
