Yes I'm looking forward to it. I went to a family function Saturday, today I checked camera and had about 5-6 does 3 bucks, all day light on Saturday! Can't believe it, always happens one day I'm not there. Plus the one I shot at last week was there again a hour before dark. Should be a good week coming up! Good luck man

IMG_1962.JPG IMG_1963.JPG Are you kidding me? I thought it was a perfect shot. She was at 10 yards. I just knew she would paint the woods and make it 59 yards max.

We tracked her for over 100 yards with a minimal blood trail.

    Still, we found her.

Above are the entry and exit wounds. How did I not have a massive blood trail? Meh, I've got a dead deer. That's all that matters.

We got her field dressed and hanging up and the bottom fell out of the sky. At least she's getting washed off without me having to waste water from the camper.

    It's a good day!

    Good luck!

Sounds like it's going to be a good bit yet, unfortunatley its a bit longer than I can wait as I am going to bed here in a little bit.

I'll check when I get up for the morning sit, when I'll have a bit more time.

My first bow kill was a button buck. Perfect double lung. Blood trail was 2 feet wide spraying from both sides. Little SOB made it 200 yards across a creek, up a bank and up a decent grade before crashing in the thickest nastiest back bending shrubbery imaginable.

They don't wanna die and their adrenaline takes over. Still is my longest recovery to date.

Oh, and sorry for crappy pics. The front was almost here. Lightning was flashing and we were rushing.

Seen just 1 more doe. When I got to the car I had a flat tire so that took a while to change. Pulled my camera and will post anything that’s worth it. Will be back out 2moz for another all day sit. Temp is going to drop from 55 now to 34 at sunrise that’s a good drop I hope it gets things going.

Well since not a single living creature was moving in the woods this afternoon all the deer gotta be moving in the morning right?....right?
It' going to be mid 30s, clear and little to know wind tomorrow morning. The kind of mornings I wait for all year long.

Had something similar myself. Blasted little doe with 12 gauge few years ago big hole and took out both shoulders cause her front dropped immediately and back legs was all that was making her go. She went easily 250-300 yards through some the thickest brush and down a big ditch crossed creek and back up other side and after 3 hours still tried getting up and running off. Left her overnight and came back to her laying dead another 50 yards from where last saw her.

    Tough critters sometimes ha

Blood trails or lack of sometimes gets me.. you can shoot one that will leave buckets and another that will leave next to none or even sometimes none.

I totally get the uncommon name. It is more common now, than when I was young.
My parents were always called Mr. & Mrs. Carter. Yep, that's my first name.
I still haven't seen a Coke can with my name on it.
