No he’s beautiful. It was a great hunt. I just didn’t feel comfortable with anything outside of 30 yards in those conditions - many people r better shots than me
Saw another doe close to dark and yet another spike with tiny little antlers at dark. Good enough day but need some bigger antlers. I have no crop fields close-no illusions of a monster. Sounds like everybody had some action today. Getting exciting.
I don't let the temps tell me when or when not to hunt during the rut. Sure I would like 40s during the day and 20s at night, but that usually doesnt happen when I want it to around here. 60 degrees. Hunting. 75 degrees. Hunting. I don't care. I don't control deer movement, I just have to be out there to grind out a buck. When "it" happens is a crap shoot. Long live the hunt!
Didn't see any deer today on the private land I hunt. I'm going out tomorrow on some public land that has some real good rubs.
Starting to have second thoughts about starting my vacation tomorrow. Work has been really busy and with a lot of new workers and training going on, getting parts out the door has been a challenge. Some machines are pretty far behind and a lot of extra hours are needed. Sometimes I feel like not being there sets myself as well as them even further behind. With the workload finally picking back up and customers who stuck with us depending on us to get them the parts they need on time, I'm just not sure it is the best time. I'd still have weekends to get it done. Who the hell am I kidding, can't keep a straight face anymore. 21 hours and I'm not thinking bout work for 10 days straight!!!
So this came up in my team thread. Anyone ever get depressed or bored with bowhunting? I hated hearing that possibility. Maybe I'm a young, nervous little dweeb as my bowtech says, but how many people has this happened to in their bowhunting "career". Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Not me. I do know people that it has happened to. Sent from my SM-N900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
It happens only when yiu dont have a good spot to hunt and you hunt almost entire season and can count the deer sighting literally on 2 hands. Then only... but a bad day hunting is still better than a good day at work Sent from my SM-G955U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
It happen to me when I was in early 20s. The family farm sold and didn't have many places to hunt. Friends would invite me once or twice a year and I usually would at least get a deer ever year. Also the combination of chasing girls instead of deer. That lasted for 4-5 years. I also got into other hobbies with took priorities over hunting. Once I got a good place to hunt again, the fire was lit and going strong again. My life is much more stable now and bowhunting is my only hobby.
Do not consider it a career, but the day I get bored with it is the day I stop. I don't see that happening ever. If you get bored with something that is your passion, it was never your passion. You get bored with things that entertained you once upon a time. I don't know who said it, whether it was yourself or another teammate, but my statement holds true.
I don’t get bored...but I don’t necessarily get as excited as I did in year one. I still enjoy it and love doing it, and I still get the pump when I decide I’m going to shoot. I do get burnt out after a long season and not much to show for it though. I don’t know if I could ever get actually bored with any type of hunting... I look forward to turkey season, dove season, and deer season every year. One of these years I’m gonna try duck/goose hunting... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
