I remember those days hearing that from my grandparents farm. It’s so crazy when you’re not expecting it.

    Haha!

Hey we need to form some kind of support group for guys that miss on chip shots at big bucks. Now I know how you felt last week! This sucks, but all I can do is laugh!

As weird as it sounds that miss last week helped me as a bowhunter. I've missed 3 shots on mature bucks over the last 3 years. After it is all said and done the reason I'm missing is bc I'm not patient with them. My biggest fear is that encounter will be my last for the season. I'm done thinking like that. I've been practicing a " I don't care" attitude. Keeping my blood pressure low when I sense a buck and I've seen 6 the last 4 hunts. I'm not going to let it bother me anymore. Of they get away they get away but I will not rush the shot anymore.

But yes, let's have a support group..I was sick for 3 days over it.

You nailed it! That is exactly what happen to me this morning. I had it in my head that I don't have any vacation this year and need to make it happen on the first mature buck. I watched him for 5 minutes coming in and was relaxed. As soon as he gave me that perfect shot I was waiting for I rushed and don't even thing I got my pins settled, then I punched the trigger. It was all mental and my fault. Good on you for figure that out. Never stop growing as a bowhunter!

Good luck. Heard there is some pretty good public land down that way. Should be hitting it at a good time as well...

That was a cold sit this AM. Ordered a few more warm things on Amazon while I was out there, lol. Saw 3 does at 150 yds, nothing close. Did get my blind up around my stand before I came in, think it'll screen any movement a lot better. [IMG]

No watched my arrow sail over his back. Then when he left I got my arrow and still look brand new. I got to watch him for 1/2 hour before he got up and left. He had no idea I was there. I will tell you though, my first thought was I hit him after I saw him bed down, but said no way. But a man can hope! Lol
