I took one of my 4H archery kids out this evening along with my oldest son. I didn't expect to see much whitetail action with the 25 to 30 mph winds, but my 4Her had a doe and two fawns pass by at 30 yards. I was going to put him in a tree, but with the wind direction it worked out for him to be in my ground blind. I didn't think being in a tree with this wind the first time ever bowhunting would be that fun. He was pretty pumped. Next week his sister is going to come too. Their parents both shoot archery, and are leaders in the 4H shooting sports program, so hopefully I can get them all hooked on bow hunting. As ranchers they are just used to driving out somewhere an hour before dark and dropping it with the rifle, and they don't have a ton of extra time, which is why the haven't bow hunted in the past.
Congrats Ranbo! This thread keeps me pumped up waiting to see what is going on! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

57 degrees this morning, been here since 0651. Beautiful day so far in a tree 18 feet up and nothing is moving.
In the ground blind still need a little more light. Good luck to those who are lucky enough to be hunting this morning.

Just put the phone down and this little buck came in. Got as close as 7 or 8 yards. Mooned me and took a dump then walked off. Waiting for his daddy.
