I'll tell you folks something: The greatest sound in the world is that "pop" when your broad head connects with a deer's rib cage.
It was a doe. The shot was perfect. I didn't see her go down but I heard her crash. I got down almost immediately. I'm colorblind and have no help, so I have to trail while the blood is wet to have any chance. I'm sure I would have found her, but I don't like to take chances. I found her piled up in a cane break. I dragged her to my tree and climbed back up. It's 49 degrees so I'm going to sit here for a little while. Like I said in my team thread, it's a little weird having a dead deer at the base of your tree.
