Pops hunted this morning at the HOmestead property and had 2 does around the foodplot well after light with a young 6 pointer dogging them....yearlings are antsier than anything right now and some mature bucks are starting to get there too. Good luck everyone...it's about to break open into full blow Pre-Rut!

They are getting fired up guys

Friday evening I called in a small 8 point for the wife. He came charging in as soon as I grunted. I never got a chance to rattle. Not the buck we were after, but very encouraging. Great evening. We found a bunch of new scrapes along the field edge.

Saturday morning I saw two great bucks. One was chasing a doe for 30 minutes all around me. The other I saw right at day light 50 yards away feed under a white oak. No shot opportunities, but I did zero in on a new tree that I plan on hanging a stand in this week.

Saturday evening I set up on a food plot. Great view but no sightings…

BTW-- I added two more ladder stand to my inventory yesterday. I plan on getting them hung Wednesday night. Have a four day weekend coming up and plan on hitting it hard. :)

Sounds like a nice weekend for sure. Things are heating up at our place as well this 4 day weekend for me should be pretty awesome just looking at the weather forecast.

Discovered on last pull right along a two track trail by the bedding that the landowner and his wife have been driving their Kubota up their a ton...trail is feet from some known bedding spots....no wonder they've been moving so late after dark....ugh.

Sat in a tree yesterday and saw nothing other than squirrels. I'm starting to think I need a new hobby.

Work crapped on my time off plans for next week, so hopefully I can finally see something moving this week.

    Just got some great news.

They are picking the corn today on two of my leases, and they picked it on my family farm on Monday..

All that corn out should have them running all over the place!

Perfect storm is brewing for a spooky weekend!!

Thought I'd share this with you guys...
Bob N. from Michigan took this buck we call Harley last night at 5:30 on our 307 lease.

We have lots of history with this guy. We believe he was at least 6 years old. Here are some pics from the past of him.

I hunted four days down on our place in Ohio Co and saw a lot of deer just no shooters. We did see a couple bucks chasing a hot doe but for the most part it looks like only spikes an realy young bucks are chasing hard right now in our area. I imagine this next week is gonna get crazy

Been RD or nothing till this past weekend...now I'm sick so not the greatest. However, I have no doubt I'll put one down just a matter of time and could be late december over the brassicas if nothing else.

I've seen two deer all season and they were both on the wrong side of the tracks.
