Bone when were the beans planted? You think heavy browsing is the culprit?

Well...I think the Homestead property has finally thickened up too much around most of our plots to flourish as we've not had nearly the growth we'd hoped for in the plots and I am 90% sure it is nearly all due to the canopy cover closing in over the years. Chainsaws will be busy this off season...however the plot at the one property is looking RIDICULOUS....planted first week of August and these pictures were from a week ago!

Man I cannot remember a time where I was this jacked for the season to start yet trying to stay organized with life...way too much going on at my job and second jobs as well...back to deer though. Some of you may have seen but the buck I've had at the top of our list in 2012 and 2013 is back and appears another chapter to the RD saga will happen in 2014. I don't know how much longer this old brute will elude gun hunters so man I pray I get a shot at him...I posted thread on him >> http://forums.bowhunting.com/trail-cameras/65744-moment-we-all-wait.html

Never have I went into a season with more than one bonafide P&Y...but also never have I went into a season with a possibility of 4 different ones. I honestly hope the other 3 don't give me a shot because RD is whom I am gonna go after hard until my Kansas trip over Halloween...after that I may become less picky.....

....gotta calm my excitement down because it can make you hunt stands you really shouldn't just yet, gotta stay patient.

Ty-- I understand It's hard to stay out of stands that you know are hot, but you got to be picky and wait for the perfect time or run the risk of blowing up a potential hot spot by over hunting it..

I am fired up also brother.. 10/1 can't get here fast enough..

Just heard yesterday that the 500 acres north of 3 of our adjoining leases to this ground is getting logged. Looks like a clear cut operation.. Expecting new bucks to take up residence on us in the coming weeks!!!

Finished getting the last of the stands setup today. I AM READY--- 10 days!
I also checked the cams on that are setup on my wife’s ground blind when I was on my way out. We should have a great opening morning set!

This was just a great pic so I had to post it.

I thought this was a cool sequence of this buck shedding his velvet.

We pulled the chip yesterday on one of the south leases and have some decent bucks showing up.

Hope they start moving during the day a little more. This lease is a target rich environment!

Great looking bucks down there. Good luck to you. Are you still having trouble with some of your cameras? I'm pretty sure I still would have time to come down there and give you a hand with them. Anything for a fellow Hoosier! Just sayin!

    Blessings........Pastorjim
