Today I was finally able to spray the spot where I plan to plant a food plot. Hopefully I can get the tiller going next weekend so I can till the spot and get the lime/fertilizer down. If it all goes as planned I'll be planting some Secret Spot from WTI in two weeks.

Yeah we checked on some of ours, and they're growing/germinated too good, the turnips aren't gonna get as massive due to crowding but oh well.

Well....the biggest boys usually don't show until late September/early October but I'll be honest the 9 in the photos below would be a tough pass I think...be curious to see what he looks like live. This is from the Swamp Property which produced last year's buck and is where I've been chasing RD for 3 years now and he's easily a 6 year old deer by know that we know lived through last year's hunting season. He is one of 3 bucks all over 140 that have made appearances on the property but he especially loves the property during rut and on into late season....if I have a tag late season I'll be hoping he is still alive because he hits food plots late A TON (included a picture of him late last season digging in the snow for turnips).

First couple are from the most recent pull and have the 9 (Cloud9):

    [IMG][IMG]

This is a young 10 with a sticker that I pray just hides away for two years...atleast one, he is gonna be a BEAST

    [IMG][IMG]

And finally...a couple of the buck I've been chasing now for three years....that first picture is the reason for his name, I saw it and said "He's the real deal..." and RD stuck.

Great looking bucks!! Plenty of options for you my friend! I just looked at some swamp property, 50 acres this past weekend most of which is in a flood plain. It is located on the otherside of the creek from 60 acres I currently hunt. You hunt those swamps any different??

My biggest buck on camera that I call Socks, 160" plus hasn't been back on camera for the past 2 weeks. The younger buck that was hanging with him has been a regular on cameras for the past month. He is probably 140 to 150 range. I will have trouble letting him walk even though he will blow up next year.

The property is dubbed swamp property more for the 200 acre swamp/thicket/marsh it butts up to...but a northern portion of the property is tall wet grasses/marsh type. Now if my purchase of a 20+ swamp/marsh acres goes through I'll learn first hand hunting true swamps.

Decided to check on food plots yesterday. Had a lot of weeds so we sprayed a couple of them to try and knock the weeds down.

Pulled the chip out of a camera that was close to one of the food plots to see what on it. This guy was a regular at the site.

I think he is mid 30's possibly low 40's. I also think he is only a three year old.

I’m sure the labor in my day today will be worth it!!

    Happy Labor Day guys! :)

Got the pool closed yesterday with some great help from the kids. We had a bow practice session when we were done-- the grandson, wife, daughters and son in-laws. They wore the targets out!

    I coached :moose: ~~ tough job – I know LOL :)

Got the new blind set up this morning for the wife. Think it will be hot early season…

Here is our new Grounder 350 setup--- couple of different views- This is a major pinch point!

Pulled the chip while we were there.

Here are some of the regulars the wife has as targets.

Looks like you got it going on brother. I've had to work all w/e at the hospital, so I'm hoping to get my stands setup this week if I can find someone to help me. Good luck to you and yours this season.

    Blessings.........Pastorjim

Twitch did you just do the strip of "anti-deer" stuff or also an electric fence? Share your thoughts please? We've considered the cost effectiveness of being able to get beans to maturity in some small tucked away places but obviously have to deter deer destruction with something.

Both of these are half acre plots. Planted beans last year using same method to great results.

Plant in late July or early August depending on weather.

Spread Milorganite and protect with Plot Saver. The deer on my property do not bother. Last year I also put up a scarecrow with a soler light.

No EFence for me. The Plot Saver works great. I dont know if you have used the plot saver before but it has a liquid that you apply to the tape and it helps keep the deer away. I've mixed what they send with my own mix of hot sauce, well blended eggs, milk and water - let that sit outside about a week and it has a similar effect.

    Latest pull--

Check out this neat looking young buck- Looking forward to seeing what he turns into next year if he makes it past the neighbors.

This guy is staying regular. Even if he is only 3 he may get a hard look if he walks by!

Had this little busy tail on cam also. Not had many fox on camera this year. Good to see we still have a few running around 

    Couple pics from yesterday’s pull.

This cam had been out for 4 weeks. It only had 1884 pictures and most were smaller bucks and does.

Here are a couple of the better ones.. I believe both are 3 year olds

Spent the day moving stands and checking food plots.

Here is the way the plots look after 3 weeks...

Kind of disappointed that the soybeans didn’t do better.
