Official gtg camping information

Not sure yet who all will be showing up thursday. I know that InDaWoods will be for sure along with my brother-in-law. We are planning a fish fry for that evening.

 

still planning on a little golf excursion friday morning?

 

Was thinking about it one of the mornings. Don't really care which. Was just gonna wait and see if anyone else wanted to go with but I would love to get out and play!

 

Yea, i have only been once so far this year, which is crappy considering we have had excellent weather here. Ill do some discussing with the wife about coming up a day early, if I do, i'm definitely game for a round of golf Friday morning.

 

I live less than :30 away so would not be staying the night, but would like to swing by to put a few down around the fire Friday night with ya'll. You mentioned a "guest issue" above. Does the campgound need a list of guests who are visiting in advance?

Back in the early 90's I was an auto mechanic/tow truck driver. There was a couple of years in the Spring where I got the luxury of going out to that campground to pull out some of the trailers and vehicles that were buried in mud. I have not been there since.

They have guest passes. Think they are $2-3 per person. We ran into the problem of them not letting people in after the office closed. I will take care of that before the event.

Well the wife is ok with me heading up a day early, so if enough guys want to go golfing friday morning, im in. If not then i will just wait and head up friday sometime.

 

You should come Thursday eitherway! We will be doing some shooting, fishing, drinking, eating and relaxing eitherway!!!

My first year to this shooting the "apple off the head" extravaganza. Looking forward to talking around the campfire with a bunch of bow and hunting freaks!

My wife and I will be raring Friday night and will camp out under the stars.

 

That's awesome! Glad to hear it! See you in just over 2 months! All the locals will probably get a few practice shoots organized before then so I will keep you posted.

Wondering if I should bring my smoker?

 

Won't need it friday night. InDaWoods is making his famous sammiches. We cook those over the open firepit. If you are free thursday night come by and visit. I am arriving wednesday and a few others are coming thursday. We are planning a fish fry thursday night for dinner!

 

I may just roll into town thursday afternoon. I dont have anything else to do, so might as well come up and enjoy the festivities a day early.

 

Just talked to a buddy of mine that has been slamming the catfish these last few days. Those catfish along with a ton of gills and crappies that I have are gonna make for a good fish fry on thursday night! We could still use more so keepem if you catch em!

 

Went fishing today, did more beer drinking than fishing, didn't catch anything, but I have fish in the freezer, I should be able to bring a couple packs along with my deer tenderloins.

Just spoke with the campground and so far only 4 people have called to get put on the list. I know we have plenty of time still but make sure that you do this so they have an idea how many people will be attending. I think what we will probably do is extend the camping into the field to the west a bit as well as park the majority of the vehicles in that field so we have plenty of room for the tents and shooting area!

 

I called and changed my reservation today, I will be there thursday-Saturday, let me know if I need to bring my golf clubs for a golf excursion.
