It's slow out there for me. Slow slow slow. Going to bowhunt the opening day. The owner of the property I hunt doesn't want gun hunters. He has horses on it and it's a pretty small piece. Oh well.

It's been slow here too. Rattled in a nice buck today but he held up at the field edge and moved off. 9 point a little bigger than the one I passed two weeks ago. He was 40 yards out but covered in brush or I would've taken the shot.[IMG]

I'm hoping any deer will join the party soon.

Well guys I got a buck on the ground yesterday! It isn't a very big antlered buck at all and I have actually passed him a few times but he came in yesterday and it all happened so fast I didn't give him a good look and it definitely wasn't the caliber of buck I was hoping to tag , if I could do it over I would have never shot this deer . But it was a good experience and actually my first buck ever with a bow and that was a very good feeling. But atleast I can be proud of the shot and know I made a clean and ethical kill on this deer the shot was at about 20 yards and he went about 43 yards before piling up --Double lung hit-- that's always a good feeling knowing you made a clean shot and did your part , no matter the caliber of deer it is! I have not scored him yet but I'll put him and the score on the score board as soon as I do that ! I guess now I'll try and get dad on one of the big bucks ! The buck he hit here a week or so ago is now showing up to one of the mineral sights on a regular basis , probably mid 140 inch buck it's a very nice buck and he seems to be vulnerable to an arrow if he keeps on doing what he is! And now I'm going to be hunting allot of predators and hopefully some late season does yet this year , went out today for the first predator hunt of the year and managed to shoot my first fox as well, It had some mange so it was good to put him out of his misery as well! Seems this year I've had allot of firsts! Bear , bow buck and now a fox!

I rushed home early today to try and get out for an afternoon hunt, only to realize that my wife took my Tahoe to work, leaving me her brand new Explorer limited. if it weren't for the price of this Crossover SUV ($4x,xxx.xx) and the near 3" of rain we received yesterday. I would be heading to the bottoms in it. However, I'm just sitting here with my new Rattle bones broken hearted. :bigcry: Perhaps, Tomorrow will bring me good fortune on an early day of work. I'm being told that the bucks are running wild this week in the bottoms. Luckily no one else hunts my ground (that I know of).

Well check the scorecard guys. We are only 1/2" out of the lead. We need a couple more to kill does or something to win.

Ok that is good to hear. I wonder how many more points they have to enter. Should probably do some research.

Can't really tell from Galen's pic but it looks at least 100" so I'm guess ing 150 total. The buck I passed would've added at least another 100

No big deal Galen. We know there's more points coming. Sneak attack on the score board!
