Alright, It's official. I have Thursday off and will hit my golden spot that day. With it being my first sit of the year, I'll probably get out there 2 hours early. I wish I had to time for trail run, but no such luck. I'm hopeful Thursday will be fruitful for us. Nice buck Battle. I pumped to say the least.

    Congrats Battle!

This has hands down been the worst year for me. Cameras are slow, movement is slow, and these are areas that have produced year in and year out. Its like my deer herd disappeared! I'm going to lay low for a few days and scout some more this next week to try and find something worth killing. Congrats to everyone that's harvested already.... Def an exciting time of year to be in the woods.

And just an update on my past few hunts ! I'm seeing deer every sit I have mostly does and small bucks but today I went in to my stand and jumped a bruiser about 100 yards from my stand ! I checked my camera and he was under my stand this morning, it's a buck I have not gotten any pictures of since summer and I'm guessing he scores 150 + ! He's just a very nice buck , and there's also been quite a few other bucks showing up in daylight hours nothing big but I would definitely wrap my tag around a few of them ! And there's also allot of bucks showing up during the night that I have never seen before, I'd say the rut is here boys!

Well guys I sat the other day and had 3 bucks and 2 doe unfortunately the one buck I would have shot was 10 yards away behind a tree before I got my camera arm fixed since it came loose from the tree

Nice looking buck. I was told by my Dad a very long time ago, never pass up an animal on the first day that you would consider a trophy on the last day....

Yeah I totally agree with that. Kind of kicking myself now but its hard especially after you've had a really close call with a significantly bigger buck.

That's a tough one. A gold buck for sure. But if there is bigger who knows.

I had a buck come within 24 yards of me that was bigger than the 1 I took. Problem was he came in at an angle & couldn't get a good look at the head gear....until he turned and started walking directly away....heart sank then as all I saw was huge main beams. Think it was one of the 10 pointers & was totally kicking myself for being so picky, so I completely get it

I've shot an OK buck in the past to only have a much bigger one show up soon after (while I was waiting to get down to check the arrow). it sucks, but it happens, I would have passed on your buck to, so i say you made a good call. you still have the best of the rut ahead of you, so your patience should pay off. Best of luck to you.
