This deer gets the free pass this year. Had this video on my camera this morning at a new farm my buddy and I are hunting. We decided he is a three and half year old based on the body type he has. If that deer gets a pass... I would love to see the ones not getting a pass! The cool weather has finally arrived - Highs in the low 60's and lows in the mid 30's pretty much all week.
Lol trust me it's hard to let him walk but we are trying to manage the property and only take mature deer. Plus we want him to breed out this year and pass those genes on. I am hoping that next weekend the cool weather will make its way down here. I volunteered to mentor a youth hunt and really want that cool weather to get the deer up and moving so the kids have a good opportunity to shoot something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hey Team! Back from my Idaho archery elk hunt and still catching up on work related stuff. I was successful on a nice 6x6 bull on 9/22. I'll be doing a write up on the hunt in the other forum and will link it here when I'm done, I'll be taking my time so be patient, I hope it will be a read worth your time. Our Michigan opener is tomorrow, 10/1, and I'm planning a sit after work. Hoping the cold front that rolled in yesterday will have lingering effects then. Here's a teaser.

Greetings Brothers, Had my first 2 sits of the season this weekend, Friday p.m. and Saturday a.m., trying to take advantage of a cold front that rolled through. I saw a yearling buck and 5 does on Friday, nothing on Saturday, does didn't provide a clear shot so I didn't force the issue. We have another cold front coming in tonight so I'm taking tomorrow off of work. Hope to report some success. T
Season opens Thursday here so I can't wait! I've had to switch up my gameplan a little since I wasn't able to hang my stand due to the yellow jacket incident but I'm still going to be hunting my favorite opening day spot!
Cold front coming through it will be the coldest it's been all season! I'll be out this weekend with my brother, hoping to get something done!
Hope everyone is able to make it out this weekend! This cold front that is pushing through may just proved a great opportunity for someone. I will only be able to hunt Saturday evening as I am going to the Nascar race Sunday. Best of luck to everyone!
