Born and raised in Russellville. Wife is from Sherwood. What part of NE AR? I didn't get up that way much. Always, went west, northwest, north, south, and southeast. Lol.

I haven't caught anything that get's my heart pumping yet but this is a sampling of the caliber of bucks I pursue here in Michigan.
First pic - hard horn buck I killed with my bow (gross 139.5"). The velvet buck in the background was killed later that year by a neighbor. I had some history with that buck and the next 2 pics are of him. I called him Goliath.
Second pic is Goliath the year before he was killed.
Third pic is Goliath same year he was killed (gross 165.5"). Note the date on the 2 pics. Same date same cam location one year apart.
Fourth pic is a buck I named Leo. He was my #1 target buck last year. On Nov. 2nd I hosted my BIL and put him in my best stand where this buck was traversing. He made it count (gross 146"+).

It looks like most of us have a good group of bucks to chase this fall!

An 8pt who is on my list is showing up pretty much every day during daylight... Really hoping he stays on his pattern for a few more weeks!

I hope to have one to chase after my first camera pull....I will be checking them this weekend. However I have a lot of other places to hunt and no time to scout all of it so those will have to be surprises lol.

Checking in from Ky! Sorry about the late check-in. This is my first time with the contest. So far I've not seen much to get excited but the big boys usually don't come into my area until late October.

Well guys I guess season starts already on Tuesday! I was a week off! I'll need to go check cam cams today or tomorrow to see what's on there before season. I might not get to a few until next week. Also I probably won't be able to hunt much at all until around mid or so September, I might get out a time or two next week but that's about it.

That is awesome! Not sure how you couldn't know when the season starts, but at least it's a week earlier than you thought!

I hope you can get out next week - I'm itching for some live from the stand action!

I remembered, I thought I was going to check cams next weekend but it was this weekend haha I've been busy. Thinking way more about antelope and elk than deer

I grew up in a little town called Imboden. It's not too far from Pocahontas, Walnut-Ridge/Hoxie area.

Welcome Bob! We are all here now right?

I've reviewed my trail cam pics and this is a different 8pt than what I got a few weeks back.

nice! We have a club workday saturday so at some point during the day, I'll slip off from the group and check cams and I have a stand I want to hang. I didn't have any pics of my number 1 the last time i pulled cards so Im hoping i have him this time. Also need to get another trophy rock out cause the deer destroyed this last one. I think it lasted maybe 3 months lol.

What would cause an arrow to start hissing through the air and also kick to the right a bit?

I was practicing last night and one of the arrows started hissing out of the blue... I didn't change a thing and have been practicing with the arrow all summer. I checked out the arrow and cant see anything physically wrong with the vanes or anything and none of the other arrows are doing it.

It's not kicking to the right much at all, but I can definitely notice it.

Something with the nock or maybe the insert is out of line. Are all the vanes on good?

    I'll check it out tonight.

Noticed that some of the Beans are already starting to turn yellow here. Might not be good come the 19th!

FR planted all the fire breaks in beans this year. I'll tell you where I'm gonna be until they turn yellow!

Last stand hung on the north end, natural ground blind made on the south end, and two mock scrapes started.

I'll be back out in 2 weeks for one last cam check and to freshen the scrapes.
