I am not fortunate to be at a large base. I'm up in Dahlonega. Anyways, I like it. In the mountains and I can go hunt.

It's pretty awesome. My current duty position requires me to walk in the mountains all day with Ranger students. I get paid to walk in the mountains. I've found some deer areas but I have no desire to walk 2km back to that spot in these mountains. Also, without an ATV, there is no way in hell I'm going to kill a deer and drag him/her back to my truck. That would be brutal. Some of these mountains go up 800-1000m over a half mile incline. Others its 200m up but it's about 18% slope if not more. The only frustrating thing is I can't bring my bow when I'm working in the mountains. lol

Let me see if I can find a map online. I gave my map that I had all marked up to a buddy that went down to shed hunt and I never got it back.

I've spent the morning going through some of my trail camera photos. Compiling a hit list for this year. I have about 3 more bucks to add to it. I'll get those posted tonight. For now, here's Nicks' Hit List:

I thought the first 3 were the same. I couldn't tell and based on the times they were there, I assumed it was the same deer. They're not big here in North Georgia but they do have decent antlers. The mountains keep them thin.

I think deer number 2 is different than 1 and 3... He's definitely bigger.

    I absolutely suck with names...

By the way guys, I posted this in the Water Cooler section. Thought I would post here as some of you may not venture there often.

Not making this up... Head on over to www.tunalawsuit.com and click the "File a claim" button in top left.

I'm sure most of us here have bought Sunkist Tuna over the last few years. Because of this lawsuit, everyone is entitled to either $25 cash or $50 in merchandise coupons.

Change of plans for me... Had to check cams tonight because I need to house sit for my aunt this weekend.

Ill post some pics tomorrow probably. Pretty disappointed. One good 8 point that's showing up every day. Other than that... About six 1 1/2yr olds.

Man it's a small world. I missed a big one last year before I shot the one in my avatar. There are definitely some big deer out there. You ever want to pick up just let me know.

Found this 5 yards from my camera/stand in the SE corner... Deer are bedding in the corn alright.

Almost looks like a bear but I haven't got a pic of one since spring.

My avatar buck was from on post as well. Best one I've killed to date. We don't grow deer this big in the part of Arkansas that I'm from.
