Here is the 53 acre farm I hunt... Need some suggestions on 1 or 2 more stand sites.

    Red Box = Property lines
    Green outline = Beans
    Yellow outline = Corn
    Blue line = Stream
    White Stars = Stands
    Orange Circle = Mineral Site

I have gotten all of my buck pictures on the south side of the property, and all of my big buck pics in the SE corner where the white star/stand is. The southeast chunk of woods is pretty much off limits as I know they use the entire outer edge as bedding year round.

One thing I have not done... I have not touched the far north part of the property where the white star is. No one has been in there since last year.... To be honest, I really have no idea what deer are even there or how they are using that part of the property. I'm really not sure how to handle it now - It's so close to the season that I may just leave it alone and sneak in during October as I know they use it during the rut.

I want to get a stand on the south end and hunt it primarily the first 2 weeks of season while the beans are still green... But there really are no trees to put a stand. Think I may try my hand at a natural blind and see what happens.

    Thoughts/suggestions?

Here is what I have for early season when they're still on beans. Sorry if you can't read it it's kinda hard to draw on my phone.

    Gray- wind
Blue- deer movement going to beans
    White- stands

That's crazy.. I was planning stands in almost the exact same spots you posted.

I would like to plan for a N/NE wind as that is what it will most likely be here in central MN.

So we have 2 guys that hunt Fort Riley? I hunted there a couple years ago and saw 2 bucks in the 160's a solid 170 and still crying over a mid 180's.

Ok you're not too far from me then. Have you ever hunted more western KS?

Since you're not here anymore...mind telling me which training area? I'm on the clock here. I leave for the Sandbox in October!

I haven't, but I do appreciate you letting me come kill two of your turkeys this past spring once I exhausted my KS tags.

A buddy of mine hunts a property out west (at least more west than here) and does pretty well.

Last year we had so many acorns it gave the deer food everywhere. It made the season a bit frustrating. Hopefully this year there's less acorns for me lol
