I don't have an early doe season up in my neck of the woods, but I can guarantee you that I will drop a doe or two between October 1st and January.
I will be heading to Ontonagon for my first time ever this year for a bear hunt in the end of September, will hopefully be a good time.
you hunting with an outfitter? I shot a 412 pound field dressed bear with my bow in gogebic county in 2005. skull went 20 2/16ths good luck to yeah!
Yes, I will be hunting with Double A Lodge. The outfitter had really good success last year third period so Im hoping he can make it happen again.
Bucks shot outside of the state by a 'Team Michigan' member still count, right? Anybody on team Michigan hunt outside of the state?
yeah they do as far I know. only hunting in state this year! here is a couple plot pics from earlier this week, they are going nuts! and another buck, don't think i will shoot this guy, but he is a 3.5 yr old so it's nice to see him. passed him in 2013, he was using the exact same trail last year all the time. I will try and put the wifey on him with her bow!
^^^ Plots look awesome! Is that Rape? That's a nice looking buck too... not many Michiganders let go 3.5 YO. Good luck!
I am about out of room on the walls for head mounts! lol between the wife and I we have eleven heads on the wall. I just really won't shoot one unless I am head mounting it, or it is a dork buck that is 3.5 plus and shows no potential. my goal is that all the 3.5 yr old's get let go! Someday, ten years ago i would never had said we would have the bucks we do today! what we really need is to become part of the shot gun area! when that happens look out!
Well.. whatever you're doing your doing it right! Good luck this year, I look forward to following you.
First Buck on cam worth talking about at the new property. Hard to tell but I believe he is either a 2.5 yr old 6 or a 3.5 yr old 8. Any input? I also put a cam up on a really hot trail crossing a shallow crick by a bean field. Hoping to get some more action on cam over the next two weeks.
cant tell how many points he has really but no older then 2.5 thats for sure pastor food plots are looking really good
Looks like i'll be chasing antelope in South Dakota late September; this will be my first time hunting this animal... Any suggestions or anything I should know? It'll be all spot and stock. Can't wait!
And I couldn't quite tell how many points there were either. I determined 2.5 just due to the lack of mass on main beams. Should be a good size by next fall.
What site does everyone use for aerial imaging? I have always used ACME Mapper but, there maps are basically the same as google. Bing also has a good map but i think its rather old.
