Yes you can buy left over tags over the counter. Really suprises me that Pike County would not be filled during the regular lottery.

This will confuse the hell out of most people:

It is legal in Illinois to use a muzzleloader tag during the second firearm season. The muzzleloader only season (which you are purchasing the tag for) is considered the third gun season.

Yes, confusing. I'll have to call someone from the DNR. I've reached out to a lot of IL residents and they seem to be foggy on all the seasons/tags, too.

Great deer Jim and I agree with French Lots of potential there. I needed a little bit of quiet time last night so I checked a couple of cams. Looks like the bucks have started to spread out a bit and I had several daylight Pics of some decent bucks. If I could get a north east wind and A cold front for october first I might be in the ball game on one of our shooters. but Other than him the rest of the big boys are nocturnal.

He's a big one. Plan is to attack him pre-rut. I think I know his bedroom. TBD TBD.

Yes - I agree; my only concern is that I bump him. I'll have to see how it turns out. I wish I had a green food plot in the field he's coming out to.
