I just bought a PA archery tag yesterday. Going to try and make it up there a few times this year.

Got a bear hunt with the same outfitter as last year at the last August/first week into September. Got most of my cameras out and have a couple that have made it from last year. Still waiting for one certain buck to show up

That's the one I'm waiting for, I know he made it, i might have gotten a pic of him already but its not the greatest pic and can't tell for sure. The landowner said he seen him in the bean field and thinks its him. We will see, hoping to get a pic of him in the next couple days cause i put a couple cameras in that bean field where he seen him

Nebraska permits go on sale tomorrow at 1000 hours for specific units.
Next year, Nebraska could be a one deer (regardless of sex) per person state

Put out 4 cameras on 1/4 spots this weekend, only 25 more cams to deploy between the 4! They should all be out and rolling exactly a month from now.

Got out last night to glass the bean fields on the lease. Saw three different doe groups and a bachelor group of young bucks. It was good to see after all the EHD losses we had last year.

Went to Illinois this past weekend to scout from the road and it stormed Friday and Saturday afternoon. No shooters spotted. Planning on heading back up first of September to double check some old spots and find some new ones.

I've conferred with my neighbor and there is a beast of a buck hanging around behind his house and behind my house (live across the road from each other) and a very large 6, not legal though , its time to put out my camera's and go check tree stands.

So it’s in the correct spot lol I’m starting to really get hyped for the season. It’s not too early or anything I’m sure this is normal behavior.

I updated my Senior Lifetime License and I'll be putting one of my cams out next week. I'll be going after my target buck from last year, and only him. I know he's alive, since a pipeline worker saw him after the season ended last year. Let the games begin!

I'll be hunting with my new F150 XLT crew cab 4x4, since my Silverado that I owned for 18 years was stolen three weeks ago!

Picked up a Trophy Ridge Swift Duo sight for my bow a couple of weeks ago. Have it sighted at 20 yards, haven't had time to sight in past that. I have been too busy with house and trying to sell it. I am also tinkering with my arrow set up. I have shot arrows around 525 grains for the last few years. I removed the 50 grain insert weight and get back to around 475. Will pick up about 12fps and improve KE a little. Been on the Ranch Fairy train for a few years, I agree with his methodology and the Ashby principles. However, a few seasons of experience has taught me that those heavier set ups are overkill for southern White Tails. I am keeping half dozen arrows at the higher weight for whenever I can cash in the Wyoming points to hunt elk.
