I hadn't set the hanging pole up yet. Also I had to hook her to the Gator and driver her all the way to the back property line to gut her.
I pulled the cam card that morning I had 3 of the biggest coyotes I have ever seen on our place show up. That actually might be why I heard all the snorting over the ridge yesterday. Anyways need to keep any attraction far from the poultry. Then had to figure out how to get her in the Gator. Well seeing the Gator is far from new anymore I grabbed the winch line swung it up over the roof lifted the bed and connected to her neck. Very slowly I winched her up into bed and lowered it. Not even a scratch on roof.
    It all takes time :moose:

    Ps
guys if you get donation request like us, keep all those cheap pens with lights in the ends. Dang if they aren't great for walking in in the dark, blood trailing, even gutting if you forgot your head lamp. Just hold in your teeth. I have some 3 years old that still work!

I hope you are enjoying your first sit of the season Jim! Look at it this way, you got all the mistakes out of the way on your first morning.

    Hellllllo LFTS!!

Great to be back. Normally I keep reading your updates while at school, but I retired from teaching in June. The only computers I've ever owned tell me how deep the fish are. After hunting yesterday morning, I got home and turned on a laptop, my girlfriend's old one, to catchup on the thread - it took 2 hours to do all the updates...still don't know if it will work. I read every post yesterday and today. Great job on the killing! Was it Josh that shot the deer with his daughter? I did appreciate the blood pics!...though I would like more. Johnny, Holt, and OND -sweet success.

In Sept I did my first elk hunt - western Colorado. Such a good time. Elk were around, but were not really rutting around us. I did draw on a nice 6x6, but wouldn't take the quartering to shot. I hope to take the same trip in the next few years.

I was going to go out last night, but called out to Lake Michigan to salmon fish. We got 3. Tuesday morning we landed 13. I'll be out hunting tonight and tomorrow morning and then back to some fishing this weekend - high in the mid 80s.

I'll be a regular the rest of the season. Need to try out the new SEVR 2.0 hybrid broadheads. 1000014777.jpg

Welcome back!!! I got the sevr 1.75 hybrid and it did a number on my buck, but I spined him so I didn’t get the full effect. Hoping to get some experience with them this weekend!

So this isn't good! Look.at time stamp. I went over late to open chickens 9a.m. spooked deer in plot. They are changing routines. I'm thinking blood from first doe and now yesterday's brought them in. Dragging her 200 yrds to back border didn't seem to work. Yep they came in from over the ridge.
Actually may be 4 for I think I see eye glow at the tree line.

I’m heading to a big buck area, hoping I can make some luck. Taking my time and trying to setup tight to his bedding area.

Had plans to buy all kinds of stuff this year. haha. I didn't buy much but did buy these boots. I spent a good amount on them, but they are so light and comfortable. Save my aging legs the weight. WELL worth the $. Merrell Speed 2 Mid Gtx

    Your pics are appreciated!

    Interesting App

Hi Holt - the spot by the house looks fun!

SE wind this evening - I've never shot a deer with my bow from the ground. I set up a few ground blinds for east winds, so ill be setting in one tonight.
