Man what a week or work. Like 2 months of hard work all culminated this week. Hoping to get a hunt or two in over the next two days. Supposed to be like 90 in the afternoons. Ugh....

At 15 feet I feel exposed and too low, but that’s about the best I can do for height on this thick place. Heck, sometimes I can only get 8 yo 19 feet here.

In more open woods I like to be around 25 feet. Sometimes 30 feet.

Doe and two yearlings worked by me and into the standing corn. Just need a decent buck to do that.

I agree. I'm used to hunting at least 20', but the terrain/trees won't allow for that.

Just had a decent 8 come right under me and make a scrape about 15 yards out. I thought about it more than once.....

Guessing I just got winded by a bear. Never saw it but it was making one hell of a lot of sounds out on the logging road

It is so thick here. 25 yards is the longest shot I have. 40 is about the max I can see.

I could have deer 75 yards away and they wouldn’t see me if I did an Irish jig in my stand.

Couple bucks in the beans. Almost sent it on this guy but shot was borderline and he wasn’t what I’m after.

Ugh.....I hate getting down from this particular stand in the dark. I normally get an evac by the wife on the side by side but she's out for the evening.... been here 4 years and still not quite used to hunting in bear country lol

Haha yeah I feel that way when it's daylight, climbing down in the dark when I know they're right under me still gets me lol I am however safely back to the road.
